In the last months the global spread of the Platform Innovation Kit continues and we are very happy to have a new team member – Sabrina Guzman.
Sabrina will join the team as Ambassador for the methodology and as platform innovation expert especially in Spain / Barcelona. She is an experienced digital business entrepreneur, coach for startups and fascinated by platform business design and disruption theory. More about her track record you can find at the end of the post.
In our short interview Sabrina let you know about her motivation to join the team. Enjoy.
Q1: Hi Sabrina, what is your current job and how is it related to platforms?
I’m the CMO of Bandit a recruiting platform. I’m in charge of the launch strategy and I lead the product team while defining the architecture, hacks and core interactions they will develop in the next months.
Q2: You have a long track record in the platform business, please tell us more about your experience?
During the past 3 years I have been part of the process of building platform business models. I was part of the founding team of the first car sharing platform in Colombia and before that I was in charge of the design and launch of a readers platform that had more than 2 million users in latam and Spain
Q3: Why are platform so fascinating?
Because they redefine every business rule known so far. Value is created externally and I find fascinating how the focus is point into building networks, the demands and users are in the center and the firm doesn’t need to control or own the chain but facilitate interaction among users.
I find that is a beautiful and open structure.
Q4: Why do you join the Platform Innovation Kit team? What motivates you?
I believe PIKit is a powerful framework that can help companies evolve and entrepreneurs ask the right questions and innovate in the right direction. As I have experience before platform design is a hard thing to do and is a common mistake to start by building the technology before knowing the value the platform will facilitate and the interactions that will make it possible
I believe that as a part of PIKit I will be able to help entrepreneurs in Spain and Latam build the next generation of platforms and witness interesting debates around innovation and disruption.
Q5: You are from Spain / Barcelona – can we expect some platform innovation workshops / trainings / masterclasses in the near future there?
Yeah absolutely as one of the station hubs is part of my agenda to make this happen 🙂
Thanks Sabrina and Welcome to the team!
